Lenguaje y estigma social. Una aproximación desde la perspectiva de la filosofía del lenguaje a la noción de estigma

Resumen

En las páginas que siguen exploraremos la relación que puede existir entre la marginalidad social y el lenguaje como un mecanismo de acción y valoración social. En primer lugar, desarrollaremos la noción de estigma a partir de los trabajos en este campo de Erving Goffman. Después introduciremos y nos apoyaremos en algunos conceptos de la filosofía de L. Wittgenstein, así como en la teoría de los actos de habla de John L. Austin. E intentaremos integrar estas dos perspectivas, lenguaje y estigma, en un marco más general valiéndonos del trabajo que Pierre Bourdieu desarrolla en ¿Qué significa hablar? Economía de los intercambios lingüísticos. Finalmente, a modo de conclusión, haremos una valoración del itinerario seguido a lo largo del trabajo y expondremos algunas posibles dificultades. Abstract: In the following pages we will explore the relationship that may exist between social marginality and language as a mechanism of action and social valuation. In the first place, we will develop the notion of stigma from the investigations in this field of Erving Goffman. Afterwards, we will introduce and rely on some conceps of L. Wittgenstein's philosophy, as well as on John L. Austin's speech acts theory. And we will try to integrate these two perspectives, language and stigma, in a more general frame using the work that Pierre Bourdieu develops in Language and Symbolic Power. Finally, by way of conclusion, we will make an assessment of the itinerary followed throughout the work and we will expose some possible difficulties.
